Key West Boats

Key West is our new line of boats. It took me a couple years to find a suitable replacement McKee Craft. I was looking for a high quality boat from a reputable manufacture that was in decent financial shape so they will be around to stand behind their warranty. After a tour of the facility, I left being very impressed with the Key West product and their staff. Key West offers a wide range of center consoles, cuddy cabins, bay boats and skiffs. All of their boats offer a 10 year hull warranty and upright and level flotation. All of the foam flotation gives the boats an extremely solid feel and sound running thru the water.

I chose the following boats to get started. I think they are excellent boats for our area. I will try to add some comments to each that you may not find on the website to give you a feel for the boats.

The 197SK and 198SK

The 197SK and 198SK are identical boats, except for the beam. The 197 has a 7-foot beam and the 198 has an 8-foot beam. Both models are 19'4" with a draft as small as 6".
Some of the best features of these boats are as follows:

1) The boats are truly self bailing. The boat bails out the side forward of the rear deck. The holes are well above the water line so there are no issues with water coming back in as with other manufacturers.
2) The decks are glassed in which not only makes it more solid construction, but it keeps all the sand etc. from winding up in the bilge and damaging your pump. It also keeps it dry under the front and rear deck for better storage.
3) The boats have a separate anchor box for better access.
4) The fuel tank is below the deck which minimizes the effects from ethanol in the fuel. If sun can hit a clear gas tank such as those found in other brands, the fuel will not last nearly as long and could lead to some engine issues.
5) There is no rigging tube going across the floor to trip over.
6) The floor and decks are the splatter finish that makes cleanup and maintenance much easier.

A 70-90 HP engine is recommended on the 197SK. The new lightweight 70 HP Yamaha 4-stroke makes an excellent package.

I have a F115 Yamaha 4-stroke on the 198 SK. It is a big boat that works well inshore or trolling for Spanish and King off the beach.

The 172 CC

The 172CC is 17'2" long, a beam of 6'10" and a draft of 8". A 70-90 HP engine is recommended.

This is a great inshore fishing machine. It runs well with Yamaha’s new lightweight 70 HP four-stroke, is pre-wired for a trolling motor, uses almost no gas and has a great ride with minimal draft.

The 176 CC

The 176CC is 17'7" long, a beam of 7'4" and a draft of 12".
A 90-115 HP engine is recommended. Click here for a top view.

This boat is a huge 17. It feels very roomy for its size. With the F90 4-stroke Yamaha, it runs 38 mph. The boat is standard with the fiberglass swim platform. It has a decent amount of storage, nice size anchor box, plenty of rod holders, easy access to pumps, room to flush mount electronics and a great ride.

The 186 CC

The 186CC is 18'10"" long, has an 8-foot beam and a draft of 14 inches.
A 115-150 HP engine is recommended. Click here for a top view.

The 186 CC runs well with the Yamaha F115. Top speed is about 38 mph on this package as well. This boat has a leaning post, fiberglass swim platform, coaming pads, removable jump seats in the stern, a nice size livewell, a saltwater washdown pump all standard. I also added tilt hydraulic steering to the one I have in stock which really makes it comfortable to run.

The 211 CC

This beauty is 21'1" long. It has an 8-foot 6-inch beam and a draft of 14 inches.
A 150-225 HP engine is recommended. The DF175 Suzuki makes a great package. It has plenty of low end torque to pop it up on plane without the weight of a V-6 engine.

This is by far one of the most impressive boats I have run in a while. The ride is unbelievable for a boat this size.

The boat is standard with the deluxe leaning post, step down console, dual batteries, hydraulic steering, coaming pads , fiberglass swim platform, trim tabs, plenty of rod holders, an insulated fish box and a saltwater washdown. The factory t-top is beautiful. It comes with spreader lights, an electronics box with a fuse block and the anchor light.

Our first boat sold in a week. Call to schedule a demo ride, you will not be disappointed.

Sundance Boats

Get Hooked on Inshore Fishing

Looking for a skiff that is a cut above the rest? Is construction, fit and finish and warranty important to you?

Check out the Sundance boats. At first look, you can easily see the difference in fit-and-finish in this boat and other "skiff" boats. The boat is also backed by a 10-year transferable warranty as opposed to Carolina Skiff's five years.

Sundance boats weigh between 15% and 40% more than the comparable Carolina Skiff boat because Sundance uses more materials for the strongest boat. Sundance also runs all their support stringers from front to back as opposed to the Carolina Skiff's side-to-side stringers. That gives the boat more structural support and a more solid-feeling ride. The wiring and rigging is neatly done.

The All-New Sundance NX21

This new offering from Sundance offers a high bow with a 40-degree entry to soften the ride. A 5-degree deadrise at the transom keeps the draft at only 9”. The boat runs great with a Yamaha F115 4-stroke topping out at 38 mph and burning only 4.5 gallons per hour at 25 mph. For the fisherman, it has a 66-quart livewell mounted in the center in the rear. It also has a 100-quart plumbed and insulated box in the rear port side. The bow has great storage, a separate anchor locker and a huge casting deck. Stop by for a ride and check out the new standard in skiffs! Click here to read more about this new boat.

The FX17

If you are into inshore fishing, you should check out this new model from Sundance. The boat has a large stable platform with a great fishing layout. It has a soft, dry ride and planes easily with minimal bow lift. Packaged with a 60 HP 4-stroke, it really moves. The boat runs great and does not need trim tabs, which is unusual for a boat of its kind. The FX17 is constructed using the flotation-log system from Sundance’s skiff line. That gives the boat a very solid, insulated feel while running. If you are interested, call to schedule a demo ride. I am sure you will be impressed, as this owner is.

The K16 Center Console

The K-16, powered by Yamaha's F-40 four-stroke, is a perfect ultra-shallow fishing platform. If you like chasing drum through Buzzard's Bay, this is the boat for you.

The F17 Center Console

The F-17, powered by Yamaha's fuel-efficient F-60 four-stroke, makes an inexpensive way to enjoy a day of fishing or island hopping. The performance ratings of the F-17 are impressive. Click here to read the chart on the F-17 with a 60 HP Yamaha engine. Click here to read the performance chart with a 50 HP Yamaha.

The F19 Center Console

The F-19 is a great shallow-water fishing boat. It runs well with a 70 HP 4-stroke and is very manageable in tight spaces and shallow creeks. This is the 19-foot version of the boat pictured above.

The B20 and B22 Center Console

The B-20 (above) and the B-22 run well with a 90 or 115. The increased beam gives plenty of room for a family or four anglers to spread out. The boat also offers a nice gunnel cap with horizontal rod storage underneath it. Our boats also are equipped with the optional "SV" console out of their bay boats with plenty of room to flush-mount electronics. It also has eight integrated rod holders, four nice cup holders, as well as an additional live-well under the front seat. When looking for a skiff, take the time to compare and see the quality difference. A first step would be to click here to check out the performance rating of the B-22.
