Spring is around the corner; are you and your boat ready?

spring environmental

With winter coming to a close, boating season is soon upon us. March first of last year we had over 80 boats in line for service. We want to share some of the best practices to have your boat seaworthy by spring time!

Maintenance

The best way to ensure your boat is ready to go by that first warm weekend is to beat the rush now. The sooner you are in and out, the sooner you can get on the water. Make sure you are up to date on the following:

Service

Water Pump

Thermostats

De-winterization (If applicable)

Old fuel is the leading cause in engine damage, be mindful not to run your motor on bad gas!

Boat Systems

Many boaters assume seasonal prep ends at the motor, but that’s far from true. Checking over your boat systems can be the difference between enjoying a day offshore or finding your GPS inop 5 miles off the ramp. Here is a helpful list of items to double check pre-spring.

Bottom Paint (If applicable)

GPS Update

Check Boat Systems

Safety Gear

Boat Registration

Trailer

Arguably one of the most important pieces of equipment to check over before the season. An unsafe trailer could not only be dangerous for you, but also others on the road. Make sure you inspect the following every season.

Hubs

Lug Nuts

Brakes (If applicable)

Lights

Tires

Bunk Hardware
